The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, October 30, 1929

Word was received here Sunday afternoon of the death of Mr. Scott of Grand 
Rapids.  He is a brother-in-law of Patience, Anna and George McGinn.  Mr. 
Scott had been ill for many months, and a great care to the family.  He has 
only one daughter, who gave up her life work as a nun to come home and care 
for him.  He was brought here for burial in the St. John’s cemetery, and the 
services were held in Grand Rapids Wednesday morning.  Patience McGinn 
remained with Mrs. Scott until Wednesday.  Ellen White taught for her during 
her absence.
