Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Wed. Jan. 16, 1985

LYONS- John Leslie Scott, 80, of 153 Prairie Street, Lyons, died Monday evening 
at a Grand Rapids hospital after a short illness.

He was born May 13, 1904, in Montcalm County, the son of William and Reta Scott.

He was married to Bessie Selleck in February 1930. He was a retired employee of 
the Wohlert Corporation of Lansing, retiring in 1969.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie; two sons, William of Muir and Kim of Ionia; 
two daughters, Marcia LaFontsee of Middleville and Sally Ferris of Ionia; two 
sisters, Ruby Morgan of Lansing and Myna Horton of Florida; nine grandchildren 
and five great-grandchildren.

Two daughters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Hull Memorial Chapel. Kenneth 
Simon, a grandson, will officiate. Burial will be in Muir Cemetery.

A Memorial fund has been established for the Lyons Library, in care of the 
funeral home.
