Ionia Daily Sentinel, 14 Feb 1916

John Scott, a veteran of the civil war, died at his home 228 State street Sunday
morning at 8 o’clock after an illness of five years.  The funeral will be
attended that 2 o’clock tomorrow from the Evangelical church, Rev. C.F. Giese
preaching and the services being conducted under the auspices of the G.A.R.  He
leaves besides a wife, six children: Ed., of Ionia; Walter, of California; Win
and Milo of Lansing; Mrs. Mina Gritzmaker and Mrs. Millie Conner of Vestaburg.
