Scott, 66, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. John Baker, Maple Rapids, Friday morning at 3:30 o’clock following an illness of one year. Death was due to heart ailment. He was born July 20, 1871, in Lebanon, the son of Henry A. and Fanny M. Scott, and was a resident of Saranac for about 30 years and a resident of Keene township. His home at the time of his death was in Hammond, Ind. For the past three months he had lived with his sister, Mrs. Baker, at Maple Rapids. He was married to Miss Nina Rose November 15, 1902, at Saranac and was a member of the Masonic lodge No. 46 at Saranac. He is survived by a son, R.G. Scott, Hammond, Ind.; two step-children, Mrs. S.W. Connor, of Ionia, and Sheldon Rose, of Saranac; two sisters, Mrs. Matthew Benjamin, of Lansing , and Mrs. [unreadable] Baker, of Maple Rapids, and a brother, Charles E. Scott, of Hammond, Ind. Funeral services will be held from the Abbott funeral home in Maple Rapids Sunday afternoon, December 5, at 2 o’clock.
