Carol was born on December 21, 1936 in Orleans Township, the daughter of Elmer C. and Leila "Alice" (Howe) McKendry. She graduated from Ionia High School with the Class of 1955. Carol spent many years in banking, serving as a teller starting with First Security Bank, later at Belding Savings and Loan and retiring from National City Bank in 2001. She enjoyed reading, knitting, baking (especially rolls) and gardening. Carol was a member of the Easton United Methodist Church where she was active over the years as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, financial secretary and the United Methodist Women's group. She was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ who loved to help others. Carol loved her family and will be greatly missed. She was married on April 25, 1958 in Ionia to Earl L. Scott. Carol is loved and survived by her husband Earl and their children; Marshe Remynse of Kalamazoo, Alan and Ellen Scott of Cheboygan, her grandchildren; Nathan and Rachael Remynse, Beth and Christopher Fryling, Michael Scott, Matthew Scott, her great grandchildren; Brayden Scott, Bentlee Scott, her sister and brother; Shriley and Frank Tuttle of Sheridan and Wayne and Polly McKendry of Cary, NC. She was preceded by her parents and a son Kevin Scott in infancy. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Easton United Methodist Church with Nancy Patera officiating. Committal prayers will follow in Easton Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:30-4:30 and 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Johnson- Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to Easton United Methodist Church or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
