VERN “DELL”): SENTINEL-STANDARD, IONIA, MI; Wednesday, July 9, 2003, page 2: "OBITUARIES - Ola Scott, 96, of Saranac, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at Spectrum Health Center-Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. She was born October 3, 1906 in Easton Township, the daughter of George and Martha Roelofson Taylor. Ola was a member of the Easton Township United Methodist Church. She worked as a cashier at A & P and Kroger in Belding for many years; she also worked at AC Spark Plugs in Ionia, Atwood in Lowell, Amway and Saranac Manufacturing. Ola was married to Vern Dell Scott for 72 years before he preceded her in death on June 3, 2000. She was also preceded by one daughter, Iris Jean Hesche in 1966, infant brother, Earl Taylor and two sisters, Hazel Kohn and Vida Baker. Ola is survived by her son and daughter, Earl L. and Carol Scott of Saranac and Doris and Art Hessler of Belding. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ola will be 11 a.m. Friday at Easton United Methodist Church with her nephew, Rev. Donald Baker and Rev. Thomas Reaume officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Johnson-Feurstein Funeral Home, Belding. Interment will be in EastonTownship Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Easton United Methodist Church or the wishes of the family."
