Lake Odessa Wave - Thursday July 22, 1965

Services Held for Leighton Scott

Funeral services for Leighton Scott, 60, of Charlotte were held Monday at the 
Pray Funeral Home at Charlotte at 2 p.m. with burial in Lakeside cemetery, Lake 
Odessa.

Mr.Scott fell from  his cabin cruiser on Lake Michigan last Sunday and was 
presumably drowned. The body was found Friday afternoon by a cottage owner about 
two miles north of Holland Harbor according to Ottawa County Sheriffs deputies.

Mr. Scott and a friend Alton White 28, also of Charlotte were cruising on the 
lake. Mr.White reported he went to the cabin for a nap and when he awoke he 
found Mr.Scott gone and the boat moving in circles.

Surviving are his wife the former Marguerite Hazzard of Lake Odessa; a son 
Richard, and a daughter Carol, both at home and two brothers Ellis and Dorr both 
of Charlotte.
