Born March 25, 1932 in Keene Twp.,Ionia Co., son of Vern D.& Ola (Taylor) Scott. From the time he was a young boy he worked on the farm along side his father. The rest of his life working not only on the farm but serving as a jack-of-all- trades with work in construction, carpentry, machine shop, farm equipment repair & a bus driver. Earl served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1951- 1959, 4 years active duty & 4 years reserve. Married Carol McKendry on April 25, 1958 in Ionia & shared 56 years together until her death in 2014. Earl & Carol actively served the 4-H community & at their church. Earl was very sociable, loved sharing stories. He enjoyed the outdoors activities, fishing & hunting, riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. Making many trip from Texas to Louisiana, during his time in the service. Survived by his children, Marshe (Brad) Suderman of Three Rivers & Alan(Ellen) Scott of Cheboygan, sister, Doris Hessler; grandchildren, Nathan (Rachel) Remynse, Beth(Christopher) Fryling, Michael (Ashlynn)Scott, Matthew (Kandice)Scott, great-grandchildren, Brayden, Brady, Malachi, Gideon, Jackson, Elijah, & Jacob, many nieces, nephews & cousins. Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Iris Heche; & an infant son Kevin Scott. Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Easton Methodist Church, 4970 Potters Rd, Ionia,MI 48846, where Earl was a long time member. Pastor Lamarr Gibson will officiate & interment will follow at Easton Cemetery next to his beloved wife, Carol following military honors by the U.S. Air Force honor guard. Visitation will be held Sunday October 13, 2024 from 2-5 PM at the Hurst Funeral Home in Greenville & one hour prior to the funeral at the church on Monday.
