Mr. Scott and his wife had been living in a tent on the addition for some few weeks past, their home at 520 West Washington St. being occupied by their daughter, Mrs. Herbert Kent. Mr. and Mrs. Scott had been down town early in the evening and gone home, sitting outside of the tent for some time visiting with neighbors. After going to bed the couple talked for some time, but Mr. Scott’s failure to reply to a question made his wife suspicious, and lighting the lamp she discovered that he was dead. Dr. Kitson was immediately called, who pronounced the cause of death heart failure, Mr. Scott having suffered for some time from weak heart. The funeral will be held Saturday at 1:30 from the residence on Washington St. and at 2 o’clock from the Evangelical church, of which deceased was a member. Interment in Oak Hill cemetery. Besides the widow, a brother, John Scott, living on State St., and the daughter, Mrs. Kent survive.
