Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Mon. May 23, 1966

Leon Ralph Scriber, 22, son of former Ionia residents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry 
Scriber, of Big Rapids, was killed in action this week in Viet Nam.

Mr. Scriber was serving as a guerrilla with the United States army and was to 
leave the service in September. He moved with his father and mother, the former 
Virginia Pearce, from Ionia to Big Rapids when he was eight years of age. 

He is survived by his parents, his grandmother, Mrs. Cora Pearce of Ionia, four 
brothers, Kirk, who is attending Brigham Young University in Utah; Chris, Kerry 
and Scott, and one sister, Terry Lynn.

Funeral services will be in Big Rapids
