Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Sat. May 14, 1966

Services for James A. Scully, 57, who died Wednesday following surgery in St. 
Luke’s hospital, were Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael’s church. , 
Marquette. Mass was said by his nephew, Father Michael A. Danner, and burial 
was in Holy Cross cemetery. 

Born in Ionia, June 10, 1908, the son of the late Anthony and Julia Scully, Mr. 
Scully was employed by Michigan conservation commission as district supervisor 
of the fish hatchery division for the past 34 years.

He is survived by his wife, Estel, a son, James G, now serving with the U.S. 
Army in Vietnam, two daughters, Mrs. James Hayden of Manistique, James Bartley 
of Dayton, Ohio, City, six sisters, Mrs. W.G. Hawley and Mrs. Adelaide Danner 
of Ionia, Mrs. George Kuhn of Lansing, Mrs. Russell K. Earl of Terre Haute, 
Ind., Mrs. Donald L. Bailey of Sisterville, W. Va., and Mrs. John La Chapelle 
of St. Ignace.
