The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, August 29, 1945


Funeral services for Anthony Scully, who died Saturday afternoon following a 
long illness, were held Wednesday morning at 9 o’clock from the SS Peter and 
Paul church.  Requiem High Mass was sung by the Rev. Father John S. Fons.  
Preceding the funeral a prayer service was held at 8:30 a.m. in the Bradley 
funeral home.  Interment was in the family lot at Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Harry McGowan, Matthew Beahan, Martin McNamara, Dr. 
J. J. McCann, Abe Snyder, William Kilmartin, Andrew Gilhooly and Nicholas 
Heufelder.  Active bearers were Bert Houghton, John Sarlouis, Bert Hackett, 
Leo Coulson, Pat Brogan and Earl Alspaugh.  Flowers were in charge of Mrs. 
Erwin Schwyn, Mrs. R. R. Whitten and Mrs. C. W. Brigham.

Relatives attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Russell Earle of 
St. Ignace, James Scully of Thompson, George Scully of Traverse City, Mr. and 
Mrs. George W. Kuhn of Lansing, Mr. and Mrs. Donald L. Bailey of State 
College, Pennsylvania, Miss Geraldine Scully of Detroit and Mr. and Mrs. 
Willis Lyons of Howell.
