Thomas J. D. Sealy, of 54 Leverett street, dropped dead on the roof of the building at 35 Church street, where he was helping a friend, Thomas Jewett, building a chimney, yesterday morning. He was just about to lift a piece of crock when he fainted. He lay very quiet on the roof, or he would have rolled off. Jewett summoned Dr. Andrew T. Sherman, of 109 Baker street, as quickly as he could climb down. The doctor had difficulty in reaching the patient. His efforts were futile, as the man died where he had fallen. Coroner Dickson was called and the body was taken down. Mr. Sealy had suffered from apoplexy, and that was undoubtedly the cause of death. No inquest will be held. He as 65 years of age, and leaves a widow and four grown children. He was an old resident; had been shop foreman for the D.G.R.&W. railroad company at the shops in Ionia, and owned some property on Leverett street.
