Word has been received here of the recent death of Mrs. Nancy A. Searing of 
Coldwater at the age of 97 years of senility.  Mrs. Searing and family were once 
well known in this vicinity having come to this county in the year 1846 and 
settled upon a farm adjoining that of her brother, Sheldon McKenzie, on North 
Plains.  Her passing away closes the last record of twelve children lineal 
descendants of Alexander McKenzie of Revolutionary fame and for whom the river in 
British America bearing that name was called.
