Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for Verle E. Sears, 64, of 111 
Fenton ave., Lansing, who died Friday (July 21) at a Lansing hospital.  Sears 
was formerly of Grand Ledge.  A retired Motor Wheel employee, Sears was pastor 
of the Church of God at Mason.

He is survived by his wife, AnnaMary; two sons, Robert of Nashville and 
Clinton of Lansing; three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Myers of Grand Ledge, Mrs. 
Donna Cathcart of Mulliken and Mrs. Patricia Walker of Corra Madera, Calif.; 
one brother, Wallace of Sunfield; three sisters, Miss Frances Sears of St. 
Johns, Mrs. Edla Brown of Ionia and Mrs. Arlene Fore of Bristol, Ind.; 17 
grandchildren; one stepson, David Sproat of Lansing; one stepdaughter, Sara 
Jackway of Lansing; and one step-grandson.

Services, held at the North Lansing Church of God, were arranged by the Peters 
and Murray Funeral Home of Grand Ledge.  The Reverends Burleigh O’Barr of 
Benton Harbor Church of God and Glynell Kriby of North Lansing church 
officiated.  Interment was in Danby cemetery.
