Seely Owned Belding News for a Number of Years, Published “Highlights of Ionia.” Charles J. Seely, 72, of Oklahoma City, Okla., former resident of Belding, when the editor of the Belding paper, died at his home Thursday morning at 9:30. The funeral plans have not reached Ionia, but it is known that he will be buried in Tustin. His son, Earl Seely, of Ionia, was called to Oklahoma City several days ago, when the elder man suffered his third stroke, and was with him at the time of his death. Mrs. Earl Seely and daughter Geraldine will meet the funeral party when it reaches this state, and attend the funeral services at Tustin. Mr. Seely had spent the past two summers in Ionia with his son. He was a printer, and about 28 years ago edited the “Souvenir of Ionia,” a book which gave much of the historical data of the city as well as the biographies of many of the prominent persons here. Another son, Lyle, of Belding, also survives.
