Aug. 26, 1993 George M. Seidelman, 88, of Easton Township, died early Wednesday morning at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital. He was born March 23, 1905, in Clintonville, Wisc., the son of John and Barbara Kroft Seidelman and farmed in the Ionia area since 1916. He was a prominent bee keeper and honey producer for most of his working life, until he retired. He was a member of the Michigan Bee Keepers Association and was a bee keeper inspector for the State of Michigan. He was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church for more than 75 years. He married Margaret Mitchell on January 18, 1935. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, David of Ionia, Herbert of Orleans and James of Charlotte; four daughters, Phyllis Sypher of Lowell, Barbara Lytle of Pinellas Park, Fla., Julia Thayer of Bradenton, Fla., and Kay Whan of Bay City; 25 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and one sister, Freda Dunn of Lowell. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethelyn, in 1933; three grandsons; three sisters, Anna Hull, Margaret Beach and Marie Coon; and one brother, John Seidelman. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church, with the Rev. William Dornbush officiating. Burial will be in Easton Cemetery. The family will be at the Cook Funeral Home, Ionia, on Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. A memorial has been established for the Zion United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home. Organist will be Evelyn Waters. Pallbearers will be: Rudy Smith; Robert Philip, Herbie, Joshua and Jacob Seidelman; and Jonathon Whan. Honorary pallbearers will be David Lytle; Michael and Paul Seidelman; Joe Thayer, and Jeremy Whan.
