George William Selby, Jr., aged 80, of Lake Odessa, was unexpectedly called 
home to the Great Wilderness early Saturday morning, July 14, 2007.

George was born in Gould City, Michigan on February 14, 1927 to George, Sr. 
and Hazel (Christman) Selby.  He was united in marriage to Diane Porter on 
March 20, 1954.  He worked as a logger for many years, and retired in 1968 
from Wohlert Corp. in Lansing due to health reasons.  George was a loving 
husband, and an awesome father and grandfather.  He was a patient and mellow 
man, and was loved by everyone.

George is survived by his loving wife, Diane; children, George (Vaughn) Selby 
III, Curnell Selby, Diane (Jacob) Moses, Kathy (Guy) Ackley, Merlin (Niki) 
Selby, and Robert (Kathy) Selby; grandchildren, Tracy Selby (Michelle 
Blakely), David Selby (Melissa Bowerman), Kevin Selby, Nicole Moses (David 
Banhagel), Jenny Ackley, Heather Ackley, Lester Ackley, Cassie Moses, Amy 
(Ron) Wilch, Steve Selby, Desi Lockery, Zach Lockery, Josh Przygocki, and 
Tyler Wilkins; great grandchildren, Skyler Selby, Jordan Selby, Michael 
Banhagel, McKinsey Selby, Ashton Selby, Austin Pryzgocki, and Tatum Wilch; 
sisters and brothers, Dorothy Lesatz, Hazel Selby, Mable Snyder, Ernest 
(Janice) Selby, Wesley (Sandra) Selby, John (Lillian) Selby, and Art (Carolyn) 
Selby; many loving nieces and nephews, and friends.  He was preceded in death 
by his parents; daughter Marietta Marie Selby; and three sisters.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2007 
at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.  The funeral service will be held 
at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2007 at the Koops Funeral Chapel.  Burial will 
be in Lakeside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 
family.
