Cleve Selleck, age 94, of Greenville, formerly of Ionia County, died Monday, 
May 31, 2004 at United Memorial Long Term Care in Greenville.  He was born in 
Ionia County on October 19, 1909 the son of Charles and Myrtle Buckley 
Selleck.  Cleve farmed in Ionia County for 36 years retiring in 1974.

He was active in Ionia County for 51 years, serving as Orleans School district 
director, helped organize the Democratic Party in Orleans Township, served on 
the Banner and Orleans Grange and during WWII he worked in civilian War 
Service at Fisher Body in Lansing as inspector for the 5-inch Navy guns.

He was married to Janette I. Mitchell in Sheridan on November 19, 1966.  He 
was preceded in death by his bothers, J.B. Selleck, and Charles Selleck; 
sister, Ethel Quenby, Hazel Bollinger, Sylvia Church and Addie Higbee.

Surviving are his wife Janette; his children, Darlene and Frank Kern of 
Lansing, Frank and Virginia Selleck of Orleans, J. Brian Selleck of 
Bloomfield, N.J., and Jon and Betty Selleck of Belding; his step-daughter, 
Charlotte and Eugene Bissell of Greenville; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-
grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. from Hurst Funeral Home, 
Greenville, with his son J. Brian Selleck officiating.  Burial will be in 
Woodard Lake Cemetery, Orleans.  Visitation will be on Thursday from 7 to 9 
p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be given to Laurels of 
Kent or United Memorial Long Term Care.
