JOHN SELLEN Idella M., wife of John W. Sellen, died at her home in this village August 21, 1913 at the age of 38 years 7 months and 22 days, leaving to mourn her loss a husband and five children, also a father, mother and three brothers, besides a large number of other relatives ad friends, her remains were laid away in Lakeside cemetery, funeral services being held at the house and conducted by Rev. Prestidge of the Congregational. OBITUARY Idella M. Howard was the only daughter of W. H. and Adaline Howard who reside in this village. She was born in Johnstown, Bates County., Missouri Dec. 30, 1874 and came to Portland this county in infancy. In July 1875 and has nearly always been a resident of this county and for several years has lived in the home where she died. She was married to John W. Sellen at the village of Portland on the 12th day of May 1892, there was born to her six children viz Clarence, John, Flossie (who died in infancy) also Leroy, Myrtie and Reva leaving the two younger girls one 8 years and one 12 years old. Darling one thou hath left us Here thy loss we deeply feel. But is God that hath bereft us He can all our sorrows heal Yet again we hope to meet thee. When the day of life is fled.
