Lake Odessa Wave - May 4, 1983
          MINERVA A. SENTERS
   LAKE ODESSA - Mrs. Minerva S. Senters died April 20.
   She was bron April 19, 1893 in rural Westphalia, the daughter of Charles and Ida
(Howe) Avery.  She 
attended Westphalia rural schools.
   She married Merton E.Bower and came to Lake Odessa around 1915.   She is survived
by four sons, Harold 
of Lansing, Lawrence of Phonix, Ariz., LaVon of Lake Odessa and Victor of Denver,
Colo; another son, John, 
preceded her in death; one step-son Maynard of Woodland; and one step-daughter,
Madonna Pick of 
Lakeland, Fla.
   She married Frank Senters in 1943.  He preceded her in death June 5, 1971.
   Surviving this marriage are three step-sons, Allyn of Lake Odessa, Carl of
California and Walter of 
Washington; two step-daughters, Mrs. Mary George of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Jean
Farentas of Inkster, Mi.
   Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lena Lyon of Perry, MI. and Mrs. Hazel
Shadock of Lansing; eight 
grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and numerous step-grandchildren.
   Funeral services were held from Pickens-Koops Funeral Chapel April 23, with the
Rev. Richard Sessink 
officiating.
   Pallbearers were Haral Bower, Lawrence Bower, LaVon Bower, Victor Bower, Maynard
Bower and Merton 
(Butch) Bower.
   Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa.
