Oct. 12, 1938 Mrs. William Serrin Mrs. W.Y. Serrin died at her home, 236 East Washington street, Sunday evening, October 9, following a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted from the residence Tuesday afternoon, October 11 at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the Muir cemetery. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, October 11, at 2:30 o'clock for Mrs. William Y. Serrin from the residence, 236 East Washington street. Mrs. Serrin died Sunday evening, October 9, following a long illness. The Rev. A.J. Westmaas, pastor of the First Presbyterian church in Ionia, conducted the services. Interment was in the Muir cemetery. Pallbearers were K.R. Smith, Geer H. Smith, Charles A. Brown of Ionia: French Holbrook of Grand Rapids: James Serrin of Chicago, Ill., and William Serrin of Flint. Mrs. Serrin was the daughter of one of the early lumber pioneers, George W. French of Muir. After her marriage to Mr. Serrin they moved to Indianapolis and later to Chicago, returning to Michigan five years ago making their home in Ionia. Surviving beside the husband are a son, James; two grandsons, a brother, C.W. French of Cadillac, and a sister, Mrs. L.G. Holbrook of Grand Rapids.
