The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, September 15, 1930

Rev. R. E. Karban, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, conducted funeral 
services for Carl Servoss, who died Thursday, at the home at 2 o’clock and at 
the Presbyterian church at 3:00.  The home was filled for the service 
conducted there and these were joined at he church by another large number of 
people that filled every seat in the church.

A large delegation from the Elks lodge was present and this body gave the Elks 
ritualistic service.  Interment took place in the North Plains cemetery.  The 
bearers were Fred Wortman, William Marquette, William Kilmartin, A. E. 
Stebbins, J. McElroy and Herbert Ross.

Those from out of town to attend the services were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Harwood, 
Dale Harwood, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Graham, Mr. and Mrs. John Coon, Robert 
Quigley, Muskegon; Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Quigley, Morley; Mrs. Maggie Davenport, 
Greenville; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gierman.
