The Ionia Standard, Friday, November 30, 1888

Job S. Sessions, one of the early pioneers of Ionia county, brother of the 
late Alonzo Sessions, died at his home at Spring Lake on Sunday the 25th 
isn’t., aged 76 years.  Mr. Sessions came to Ionia county with his brother 
Alonzo in 1836 and they both took up land in the town of Berlin.  He resided 
there until the year 1867 when he removed to Livingston county and two years 
afterward went from there to Spring Lake where he has since resided.  He was 
well known to all the older citizens of Ionia.
