Sessions, the eldest son of Nathaniel and Adeline Sessions, was born in North Plains Township, Ionia County, July 4th, 1866. At the age of 14 with the family moved to a farm two miles east of County Corners in Clinton County, where he helped in the clearing and developing of a large and prosperous farm and shared in the family life of six children. The last three years of their stay on this farm he had complete charge. At the age of 15 he had an illness of fever, which left him with a weak physical body, from which he never fully recovered. In the summer of 1903 he spent with his youngest brother and wife in North Dakota, returning he came to live in Carson City with his mother and sister Edith. The following year he purchased the farm one mile south of town, where he lived continually until his health failed him. In 1928 he was married to Mrs. Roa Hartman. In June 1938 he went to the home of his sister, Mrs. Edith Cook at Harbor Springs where he was tenderly ministered to by his sister. He passed peacefully away November 3 in the presence of his Maker and his brothers Harvey and Porter and sister Edith at his bedside. He was converted under Rev. Albert Smith pastorate at Hubbardston in early boyhood and joined the M. E. Church. He kept his faith with his household which was his firm anchorage in the last. He expressed his assurance of the Better World where all trials and storms of life are over and where he joins the many loved ones in Christ Jesus who have gone before. He leaves to mourn their loss, three brothers and one sister, one brother having passed away in 1902. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Lester Clough officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in the West side cemetery at Hubbardston.
