Sexton, son of Mrs. Mary Sexton of this village, died at the village hospital Thursday evening after lying in a coma since early Sunday morning. His death resulted from diabetes with which disease he had had a battle of several years. Clair had attended the Ferris Institute as a young man and later had been employed by the Pere Marquette R.R. Mr. Sexton went to Lansing Saturday and on his return late in the evening was taken ill and removed to the hospital. His father Bert Sexton died several years ago. He was 38 years of age. The funeral was largely attended at the home Sunday afternoon. Rev. Fay C. Wing of Woodland officiated. The music was by Mrs. Marinus A. Hoffs and Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Goodemoot. The American Legion post here acted as bearers and escorts. Burial was at Lakeside with full military honors. Clare H. Sexton was born in Sebewa, April 20, 1896, living there until 1917 when with his parents Burton and Mary Sexton he moved to Odessa township, later to the home in Lake Odessa where he lived until his death September 6, 1934.
