Vernon G. Sexton Passes Away

Vern G. Sexton, 69, of Lansing, passed away Saturday at a Lansing hospital.

A former local area resident, he was born November, 1902, in Sebewa, son of Bert 
and Mary Sexton, and had attended Lake Odessa High School.

Vern had been a resident of Lansing for 40 years and was employed as a baker at 
the Boys Training School for 20 years, retiring in 1968.

Surviving are his wife, Winifred; a son, Verne Thomas Sexton of Maine; two 
daughter, Mrs. Elinor Mason of Lansing and Mrs. Shirley Sladovnik of 
Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Zella) Beckhold 
of Lake Odessa and Mrs. Maud Oles of Hesperia.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 at the Estes-Leadley Colonial Chapel. 
Rev. Ronald Entenman of Potter Park United Methodist Church officiated with 
burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
