The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, September 24, 1987
Kenneth L. Seybold, 68, of 3633 Bippley Road, Portland, died Tuesday at 
Pennock Hospital in Hastings.  He was born September 3, 1919 in Lake Odessa, 
the son of Herbert and Mattie Cross Seybold.  He married Ruth VanDeventer in 
Ionia, April 5, 1947.

He was retired from Atlas Drop Forge in Lansing and also worked as a farmer.  
He attended Sebewa Center Methodist Church and was an active member of the 
Portland VFW and the Sunfield Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Judy Stairs of Vermontville; a 
son, Kenneth, at home; two grandchildren; one sister, Ethel Zanders of Ionia; 
a brother, Leland, of Sunfield.  A son, Douglas, preceded him in death in July 
1973.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Mapes-Fisher Funeral 
Home of Sunfield.  Burial will be  in East Sebewa Cemetery.  A memorial has 
been established for Sebewa Center Methodist Church, in care of the funeral 
home.  The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 
p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
