March 8, 2012 Leo E. Seymour Jr., 89, passed away peacefully in Grand Rapids on March 5, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley (Houghton) Seymour; his children, Tom (Sally) Seymour, Barbara (Alan) Haas, Dan (Judy) Seymour, Nancy Simard, Karen Seymour, and Mary Jane (Don) Fraker; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sister. Leo served in the Army Air Force during World War II. After he retired from General Motors, he enjoyed sailing, golfing and family time. The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of Fulton Manor. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Boufford at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia. Rite of Committal will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Ionia. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lehman Funeral Homes, 220 Rich St., Ionia, on Friday. A Scriptural Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the American Alzheimers Association, or the V.F.W. Clark Home, in memory of Mr. Seymour.
