Seymour after suffering for three years with that terrible disease, cancer, in the face, died at his residence in Ionia, March 30th, 1886. Mr. Seymour was born in Camillus, N. Y., April 30th, 1831. He came to Michigan in 1852, and settled in Grand Rapids, where he lived for 15 years. He was married to Miss Caroline M. Cook in 1856, and came to Ionia in 1867, from which time he has resided in this city until his death. He was an active member of the Masonic fraternity, and also of the A.O.U.W. During his residence in Ionia Mr. Seymour was known as an active business man, upright in all his dealing, and he enjoyed to a very large extent, the confidence of his neighbors and friends. He leaves a wife and three children, and a very large circle of acquaintances to mourn his loss. Mr. Seymour was during his long and painful sickness cheerful to a degree, always hopeful, even against hope, and bore his suffering without any words of complaint or repining.
