Born September 22, 1934 in Vermontville, she was the daughter of Roy and Margaret McClelland Shumacher. She was a 1952 graduate of Charlotte high school and a member of Wesleyan Methodist church of Hastings. November 12, 1954 she was married to Dean Shade in Lansing and lived in South Woodland, rural Freeport and Lake Odessa before moving to Hastings ten years ago. She was employed as secretary at E. W. Bliss company from 1956 to 1965. Surviving are her husband, four sons; Mark, David and twins Brian and Bruce, all at home; her father, Roy Shumacher of Ionia; mother, Mrs. William Powell of Charlotte; one brother, William of Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa with Rev. Olson officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery. Subsequent Publication: May 9, 1968 Rev. Olson officiated at funeral services Wednesday in Lake Odessa for Mrs. Lois Shade, who died Sunday in Grand Rapids hospital. Interment was in Lakeside cemetery. Bearers were Fred Sawdy, Clyde Wilkins, Edgar Cheney, Leonard Koutz, Charles Wilkins and Lawrence Adams.
