MRS.CHAS.SHAFER DEAD

Mrs.Chas.Shafer died at the homeopathic hospital at Ann Arbor last Tuesday at 11 
a.m., after undergoing a serious surgical operation. Mrs.Shafer had been sick 
for six weeks and her only hope of recovery was an operation. She bravely 
submitted to it, realizing that it was a case of life and death but her weak 
system could not stand the shock and death came to relieve her of her 
suffering.The remains were brought here Tuesday night and the funeral will be 
held at the house east of town today, interment to be made in Lakeside cemetery.

Mrs.Shafer was formerly Ida VanBuren and had been married four years.A sad 
feature of the case is the two little children who are left to grow up without 
knowing the loving care and tenderness of a mother.

Deceased was twenty-six years of age and leaves a husband, father, mother and 
ten brother and sisters to mourn her death, which comes at a time when it seems 
she is most needed and when life seemed most dear.


The bereaved husband and children have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire 
community.
