Sentinel-Standard - Sat. March 24, 1951

Jess Shamp, 70, of Palo died at the Ionia Convalescent Home Friday afternoon 
after being a patient there for one day.

He was born Oct. 18, 1871, at Westville. A resident of Palo for 20 years, he 
was a retired framer. His wife died 15 years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Edward of Charlotte and John of Ionia and a daughter, 
Ruth Hummel of Beaverton.

Services will be held by Dr. Howard A. Smith at Myers funeral home Monday at 2 
p.m. Interment will be in North Plains cemetery.
