Miss Emma Sharp, the young lady who recently died in Lakeview, was a former
resident here and an operator in one of the silk mills.  She was a victim of
tuberculosis and for more than a year had been unable to work, gradually giving
way to the ravages of the dread disease.  After the Spinney sanitarium fire she
was removed to the home of Mrs. Williamson in Lakeview, where she was a patient
and uncomplaining sufferer until the end came, anxiously awaiting the hour.  At
the last moment before her death she said she could see a field of beautiful
grain and a stream of pure water beyond, that she could see Jesus and also her
mother near her.

The deceased had been an active member of the Epworth League here and during her
sickness she had received much assistance from that organization and her many
friends.

It was her wish that her former pastor, Rev. J.W. Sheehan, should officiate at
her funeral, but he was unable to do so and Rev. A. Secord of Lakeview
officiated.  The hymns sung were her own selections, “Sometime We’ll Understand”
and “I’m Going Home to Die No More.”

Mrs. Chas. Murray, Miss Jessie Presley and others were present from this city.
