The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, August, 2009

Donald L. Sharp, of Ionia, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009.   He 
was born on March 18, 1931 in Easton Township the son of Lewis and Lydia 
(Towne) Sharp. Mr. Sharp attended Saranac Schools and enjoyed camping, car 
racing and fishing. He drove truck, worked construction and also worked for 
Brown Corporation. 

Surviving are his children, Larry (Penny) Sharp, Karen (Roy) Jackson, Patricia 
Jackson (friend Phil Cooper), Kimberly (Paul) Beckwith; 9 grandchildren, 
Jennifer Durden, Brandon Sharp, Kyle Sharp, Amy (Josh) Johnson, Maggie Mier, 
Sean Jackson, Tim, Amanda, and Givyn Yoder; 6 great grandchildren, Jalyssa, 
Jaden, Max, Taylor, Bryant, Mara; sisters, Arleen Weeks, Joann (Jack) 
Brechting; several nieces and nephews; special friend Bettie Davis and her son 
Jim White.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Eleanor 
(Roger) Lindsley.

The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Cliff Allen at 11 a.m. 
Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 at the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Homes, Ionia.  
Interment will take place at a later date at Easton Cemetery. The family will 
receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. In lieu of 
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family of Mr. Donald L. 
Sharp.
