Sharp, 65, of Mulliken, died Aug. 12, 2008 at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn, following a valiant battle with cirrhosis, caused by the genetic disorder, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. She was born Jan. 12, 1943 in Lansing, daughter of Hobert and Edna (McClelland) Clark. She was first and foremost a housewife and mother. With her friend, Marlene Smith, she operated a concession wagon known as “Two Moms Snack Shack”. Shirley was a former member of the Roxand Service Club and a Danby Township election worker. She was preceded in death by two infant sons. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, John; daughter, Kristine Sharp-Thelen and her husband Alan Thelen of Sunfield; granddaughter, Sydney Thelen; brothers, Charles Clark and Gerald (Billie) Clark, both of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. Services were held Aug. 19 at Barker-Leik Funeral Home, Mulliken, with Victor Hilbert officiating. Interment was in Danby Cemetery. Pallbearers were Gerald Clark, Brenda Decker, Mary Gabin, Carl Lance, Eugene Ridenour II, and Charles E. Sharp. Honorary bearers were Robert Green, Mike Hilton, Mark Lance and Charles P. Sharp.
