Lydia M. Sharp, 86, of Ionia, died Saturday, April 18, 1987, at Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital.  A lifelong resident of the Ionia area, she was born in 
Otisco Township March 7, 1901, the daughter of Allen and Maude Meade Towne.  
She was a member of the UMW of Easton United Methodist Church.  On June 18, 
1924 she married Lewis Sharp in Ionia.  He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Arleen Weeks, Ionia, Mrs. Jack (Joann) 
Brechting, Belding, Mrs. Roger (Eleanor) Lindsley, Texas; a son, Donald Sharp, 
Ionia; a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Lelah) Christensen, Ionia; a brother, Herbert 
Towne, Barryton; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in 
death by a brother and a great-grandchild.

Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Funeral Home, Saranac, the Rev. 
Katherine Williams officiating.  Burial is in Easton Cemetery.  The family will 
meet with friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.  Memorial 
contributions may be made to UMW of Easton United Methodist Church.
