George W. Sharp, aged 74 years, died at his home in Orleans village Wednesday
morning of last week following a long illness caused by cancer.  Mr. Sharp had
been station agent at Orleans for more than 40 years.  He was born in Ohio and
in 1886 he was married to Laura E. Swartz, who died in 1927.  A year later he
was married to Mrs. Jennie Reading of Grand Rapids, who with a son, Ralph, of
Florence, Alabama, and a daughter, Mrs. Roy Terry, of Easton township, survive
him.  Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Orleans Saturday
afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Frank Loomis officiating, and burial was in Orleans
cemetery, with the officers of Belding Masonic lodge, of which Mr. Sharp was a
member, holding their ritualistic services at the grave.
