Frank G. Sharp, 93, of Ionia, died Monday, July 18, 1994 at Ionia County 
Memorial Hospital.  He was born Nov. 12, 1900, the son of Franc and Rachel 
(Meeks) Sharp in Easton Township.

He attended Dexter Rural School and Saranac High School.  He married Mabel 
Gallagher Sept. 20, 1923, at St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic Church.  They lived 
in Ionia all their married lives.

Mr. Sharp owned and operated a service station in Ionia for 27 years.  He 
served as an alderman in the second ward from 1947-1958, and a supervisor in 
the second ward from 1958-1968.  He was county commissioner from 1968-1972.  He 
was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the senior citizen club and 
the Ionia Fishing and Hunting Club.

He is survived by his wife Mabel; three daughters, Mary (Alfred0 Ueberoth of 
Lansing, Wilma (Paul) Clark of Ionia, and Jean (Ron) Beyer of Hastings; nine 
grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces 
and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cook Funeral 
Home in Ionia.  A prayer vigil service will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Cook 
Funeral Home.  The funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Thursday, at SS. 
Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ionia, with Fr. Charles Hall as presider.  
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made 
to SS. Peter and Paul school trust fund or the Ionia Area Hospice.
