Sharp, Sr., 74, died at his farm home in Easton Wednesday evening, January 1 at 4:50 o’clock following an illness of cancer which he suffered for the past 10 months. He was born in New York state, February 23, 1861 and for the past 69 years he has lived in Easton township. In 1887 he married Miss Rachel Meeks, of Ionia, who died thirty years ago. Mr. Sharp was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and had held office on the school board of Easton township. He had belonged to the Modern Woodmen since 1897. About a year ago Mr. Sharp fell while at work in his barn and his hip was broken. He was at the University hospital at Ann Arbor for some time and had never fully recovered from the effects of that accident. Surviving him are his children, Frank, Jr., of Ionia; Lewis B., of Easton; Raymond, of Fairbanks, Alaska; Miles, of Easton; Mrs. Harry Dye, of Detroit; Mrs. Forest David, of Saranac. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, January 5 at 2 o’clock with Rev. Frank Loomis officiating and interment at the Orleans cemetery.
