                    Obituary of Herbert D.Shartle

Herbert D. Shartle was born January 30, 1901, and died April 21, 1943. His 
father, mother and sister preceded him in death. He united with the First 
Presbyterian church at the age of 12 where he had the privilege of active 
Christian service. In 1937 his membership was transferred to the Woodland 
Evangelical church.

Surviving is one son Herbert Shartle, Jr., one brother Willard H. Shartle at 
Lockland, Ohio, one sister Mrs.Clara Klopfenstein in Woodland, and nephew A 
Willard Shartle, Jr. at Lockland, Ohio, and Mrs.H.H. Anderson at Niles.

"Let me go, my soul is weary
Of the chains which bind me here;
Let my spirit bend its pinions
To better holier sphere.
Earth it's true. has friends that bless me
With their fond and faithful love,
But the hands of angels beckon
Onward to the gates above."

The funeral was held Saturday at the Worthley & Baine Chapel with the pastor the 
Rev. J.S. Deabler, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Osgood. Burial in Lakeside.
