Ionia Sentinel Standard, 10 Jan 1987

James Jay Shattuck Sr., 45, of 471 S. Stage Road, Ionia, died early Friday 
morning at his residence after suffering a fatal heart attack.  He was born 
June 29, 1941, the son of Kenneth and Lucile Cronk Shattuck.  He attended Ionia 
High School and lived in Ionia all his life.  He was a shipping clerk at Brown 
Corp. of Ionia.  He married Fran Bennett in February, 1960, in Carson City.  

He is survived by his wife, Fran, one son, James Jr. of Lyons, four daughters; 
Julie Font of Ionia, and Mary, Amy, and Angela Shattuck, at home; three 
grandchildren; his mother, Lucile; seven brothers; Kenneth Jr. of Flint, Wayne 
of Lansing, Ronald of Ionia, Ed of Grand Rapids, Douglas of Ionia, Alan of 
Saranac, and Randy of Ionia, four sisters; Glenna Tuttle of Grand Rapids, Marie 
Tayler of Lansing, Brenda Richards of Grand Rapids, and Debbie Dunmyer of 
Lowell, and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Lyons Baptist Church, the 
Rev. Paul Carmichael officiating.  Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery.  Visitors 
may call at Hull Memorial Chapel of Muir until 1 p.m. Sunday.
