John Felix Shattuck, 40, of St. Louis, Mich., formerly of Ionia, died Thursday, 
Sept. 1, 2011 at his home. 

A memorial service will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis Chapel, 
St. Louis at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. Family will receive friends 
beginning at 11 a.m. prior to the memorial service.

John was born in Ionia on Nov. 23, 1970, the son of Francis L. and Julia E. 
(Pugsley) Shattuck. He liked to hunt, fish, off-roading and was an avid NASCAR 
fan.

He is survived by his mother, Julia and Jim Palmer of Riverdale; stepbrother, 
Joe Palmer of Lake Odessa; stepsister, Missy and Shane St. John of California; 
four aunts, Linda Benson of St. Louis, Dana and Joe Wireman Hernandez of 
Orleans, Susan Martin of Ionia and Sharon Moore of Ionia; four uncles, William 
Pugsley of St. Louis, Larry Shattuck of Ionia, Robert and Joy Shattuck of 
Lowell and Art Misner of Morley; nieces, Alexis, Danika, Nichole and Brittany; 
nephews, Brandon, Brian and James; and numerous cousins and large adopted 
family. 

He was preceded by his father; grandparents, Robert and Ellen Shattuck and Dale 
and Norma Pugsley; aunt Georgia Misner; and uncles, John Shattuck and Leonard 
Benson.
