Shattuck, 63, of 713 Harrison street, died late Thursday at Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids following a brief illness. Born July 20, 1910, in Ionia he was a son of Edgar and Mary Randall Shattuck and lived in Ionia most of his life where he attended Ionia schools. On July 11, 1933, he married Grace Bonoite and for some 22 years he was employed at the several firms operating the manufacturing plant now occupied by General Tire and Rubber Co. He retired from General Tire on July 20, 1972. Surviving besides his wife are six sons, Henry, Russell, Dale, Joseph, Thomas and Charley, all of Ionia; seven daughters, Mrs. Ernie Shields, Mrs. William Nielson, Mrs. Frank Cupps, Jr., Mrs. Frank Sigala, Mrs. Robert Bowerman, and Mrs. Larry Tate of Ionia, and Mrs. Ricky Tate of Fort Campbell, Ky. Also surviving are three brothers, Frank of Battle Creek, Robert and Kenneth of Ionia; seven sisters; Mrs. Leo Halstead of Muir, Mrs. Asa Randall of Hastings, Mrs. Loren Dunn of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Harry Myers of Baldwin, Mrs. Louise Hope and Mrs. Margie Farrell of Ionia and Mrs. Owen Dulek of Orleans, and 31 grandchildren. The body is at Leddick funeral home where friends and relatives may call between 7 and 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Services will be at 1 p.m. February 4, the Rev. Paul Jetter of the Church of the Nazarene officiating.
