Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Nov. 1995

IONIA- Russell Robert Shattuck, 60, of Ionia died Sunday morning at his home.

He was born in Ionia on July 14, 1935, the son of Lewis and Grace (Gallup) 
Shattuck. He attended Ionia schools and was employed as a meat packer for 
Thornapple Packing Co., retiring in April of 1994. He was a member of the Ionia 
Men’s Bowling Association and an avid outdoor sportsman.

He is survived by mother, Grace Gallup, of Ionia; sons; Philip Shattuck and 
Robby Taylor, both of Ionia; daughters; Vicki Standard, of Ionia, Kathy 
(Douglas) Bowen, of Ionia, Jill (Vern) Griswold, Judy Taylor of Palo and Robin 
(Richard) Hills; brothers; Henry Shattuck, of Ionia, Joseph Shattuck, of Ionia, 
Thomas Shattuck, of Ionia, Charley Shattuck, of Ionia and Dale Shattuck, of 
Clarksville; sisters; Shirley (Ernie) Shields, of Ionia, Greta (William) 
Neilson, of Ionia, Gay Ann Cupps, of Lyons, Clairalee (Tom) Wilson, of Ionia, 
Terri (Robert)Bowerman, of Ionia, Eloise (Paul) Bairefoot, of Ionia, and Louann 
(Mike) Reed, of Ionia; special friend, Ulah Taylor, of Ionia; and 17 
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hull Memorial Chapel with Rev. 
Kirk Starkweather of the Ionia Nazarene Church officiating. Burial will be in 
Tuttle Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at the 
memorial chapel.

A memorial fund for the wishes of the family has been established and may be 
sent to Ulah Taylor at 31 Stevenson Place in Ionia.
