Ionia Sentinel Standard, 10 Nov 1964

Mrs. Anna C. Shattuck, 84, longtime resident of Cleveland street, Ionia, passed
away November 10 at McPherson community health center in Howell.  She was the
widow of Bert L. Shattuck, a veteran of the Spanish American War.  She was born
May 11, 1880 in a log cabin in Bengal township, Clinton county.  The farm is
still owned by the family.  Mrs. Shattuck was a member of the Spanish American
War Veterans auxiliary and a confirmed member of the St. Johns Lutheran church.
 She had been employed by many Ionia concerns.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Margaret Alger of Howell with whom she
made her home, and Mrs. Evelyn Rambo of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Gilbert Boland of
Durand; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grand and four great great-grandchildren; two
brothers, John Ernst of Lansing and William of Fowler; and several nieces and
nephews.

Funeral service will be at 1 o’clock Friday afternoon at Myers funeral home and
interment will be in the family lot at Highland Park cemetery.
