Ionia Sentinel Standard-Thurs. May 2, 1968

A lifelong Ionia resident, Oren E. Shattuck, 75, of 201 Cleveland died 
Thursday at Ionia County Memorial hospital where he had been a patient since 
Monday. He had been ill several years.

Born in Ionia, November 3, 1892, he was the son of Oren E. and Emma Steven 
Shattuck. August 6, 1928 he was married in Ionia to Elizabeth Andrews.

A veteran of WWI he fought in the battle of Alsace, Chateau Thierry, Soissons 
and Verdun Sextor and was wounded in the battle of Chateau Thierry. 

Besides his wife Elizabeth he leaves two sons, Oren E. Shattuck, Jr., and 
Donald Shattuck of Ionia; a step-son, Henry Bishop of Grand Rapids; two 
daughters, Mrs. Barbara Scutt of Saranac and Mrs. Laura Rademacher of Grand 
Ledge; 12 grandchildren; step-mother, Mrs. Mary Shattuck of Ionia; one 
brother, Frank of Battle Creek and three step-brothers, Lewis, Robert and 
Kenneth of Ionia; three sisters, Mrs. Leona Halsted of Muir, Mrs. Edna Dunn 
of Grand Rapids, Mrs. Ruby Randall of Hastings; four step-sisters, Mrs. 
Lucille Myers of Rockford, Mrs Alice Dulik of Orleans, Mrs Louise Hope and 
Mrs. Margery Farrel both of Ionia.

Funeral services will be Saturday a 2:30 pm at Lincoln Avenue Baptist church 
with Rev. John Hadley officiating. Burial will be in Tuttle cemetery.

Body will be at Stone-Kauffman Funeral home until noon Saturday.
