The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, October 8, 2003
Opal June Shattuck, 82, of Ionia, passed away at home October 3, 2003.  She 
was born January 21, 1921 in Ionia the daughter of Vernon and Iva (Austin) 
Underhill.  She married Forrest Shattuck April 16, 1938 in Indiana.  She was a 
past member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Opal is survived by her husband of 65 years, Forrest Shattuck of Iona; 
children, Joan Misner of Muir, Sandy (Cy) Misner of Ionia, Judy (Walter) Brown 
of Sunfield, Forrest (Shirley) Shattuck Jr. of Lyons, Jean Foster of Ionia, 
Becky (Steve) Peters of Ionia; special cousin Terri (Bob) Bowerman of Ionia; 
special friends Betty and Chuck Wright of Charlotte; many grandchildren, great-
grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.  
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one daughter Billie Jo February 
7, 2003.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia with Rev. Jerry Polk officiating.  The family will 
receive friends and relatives Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral 
home.
