Genet M. Shattuck, 56, of Portland died Dec. 27, 1995.  She was born in
Westphalia, the daughter of Edwin and Regina (Thelen) Smith.  She was a member
of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by daughters: Brenda (Frank) Fandel, of Portland, Cynthia
Shattuck, of Union City, and Diana (Craig) VanDerSteen of Grand Ledge; son
Robert M. Shattuck, of Portland, four grandchildren; brothers: Jerome (Jewel),
of Vermontville, and James (Linda) Smith, of Portland; sisters: Patricia
(Christie) Goodman, of Portland, Rita (Larry) Klein, of Portland, Marlyn Smith,
of Lansing, Evelyn Smith, of Ionia, and Elizabeth Weber, of Portland.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert L. Shattuck and
her grandson, Justin.

Mass of a Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, 1995 at St.
Patrick’s Catholic Church with Fr. Julian Reginato officiating.  Interment will
follow in Portland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7
p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Gorsline-Runciman Co., Neller Chapel, where there
will be a rosary prayed both tonight and Friday at 8 p.m.
