Saranac – Funeral service for L.D. Shaver, 52, of Lansing, who died July 10 will
be held at Estes-Leadley funeral home in Lansing, Thursday at 10 a.m., and at
Morris funeral home in Saranac at 2:30 p.m.  The Rev. John Gehring of Benzonia
will officiate and burial will be at Saranac cemetery.

Mr. Shaver was born in Saranac, October 10, 1909 and died at Santiago, Chile,
while on a tour of South America.  He was a member of the United States Power
Squadron and at the time of his death was a supervisor at Oldsmobile plant in
Lansing.  He was a graduate of Saranac high school and Michigan State
University.  He was a Mason and member of Eastern Star.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine, and a son, Dwight of Lansing; a daughter,
Mrs. Jean Robinson of Holt; six grandchildren, and a brother, Vincent Shaver of
Lansing.
